➼ okay, so we all know that magical girls go by the following - take out transformation item, yell some obscure catchphrase and take 5 minutes transforming into a frilly dress? Or atleast..thats how it goes most of the time. Despite the similarities when it comes to their functionality, they actually have quite significant differences too whether that be in their fighting style or motifs.here are the three following types of magical girls :

𝙒𝘼𝙍𝙍𝙄𝙊𝙍— 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐲𝐩𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐠𝐢𝐫𝐥 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐲𝐩𝐞 ; 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐲𝐩𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐟𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟𝐟 𝐯𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬/𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐬 

➼ this type is the most common type ; we see this in alot, if not pretty much ALL magical girl animes. Its the hardest to be ; fighting off criminals & high heels is harder than it looks on screen. You're gonna need alot of willpower if you want to become the warrior type of magical girl 

➼ most warrior magical girls work in groups/teams, with few of them like minky momo being an acception 

𝙄𝘿𝙊𝙇— 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦 𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 (𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐛𝐞 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭) 

➼the idol type entertains people instead of protecting them from threats & defending whats right 

➼they dont have any weapons due to them not needing to fight, they only need the essential things needed when preforming such as microphones or instruments  

 𝙈𝘼𝙂𝙄𝘾𝙄𝘼𝙉— 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞, 𝐧𝐨 𝐟𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐝

➼Now, dont get this type confused with the warrior, as yes, they DO help people- however they do it in a much more non violent & casual way, usually transforming into something new everytime.Minky momo is a good example of this as every episode she transforms into an adult with a different job everyday, each one of those jobs had a role in helping people

➼these ones might not have one consistent magical girl uniform, as they might transform into a different person everytime 

➼this one is much more subtle and unpopular, but still just as important as the other magical girl types 

➼So..yeah!- but theres much more options than just those three types ive mentioned, you could be a preCure or a sailor scout for example.This means that you would have to follow the guidelines that the anime has when it comes to being a magical girl, like for example- if you decided to become a mew mew, you would need some animal motif. Or, if you're feeling REALLY creative you could just make up you're own magical girl motif and familiar & such.

➼i personally created my own world so i would have my own guidelines to follow, as it allows so much more creative freedom.

➼its best to choose what magical girl type you want to be based off of your reason to become a magical girl.Want to protect people? Be the warrior type.Want to have fun & be able to sing? Be the idol type.It doesnt make any sense having the motiv to be a hero and then choosing the idol type of magical girl..y'know?
