Taiyo's POV
As I lay down on the sofa in Kyoichiro's office as the nurse's was closed as my entire body felt exhausted like I ran a marathon and haven't slept at all
"Ahhh...I thought I was gonna die..." I groaned out as all of yesterday's and today's events finally hit me at full force
"There, there, Taiyo! I know it's been a rough day...but things have been getting better!" Mutsumi told me with a smile
"Huh?" I said in confusion as I had no idea what she was talking about
"Did you noticed? You've been talking to people since yesterday, Taiyo" she told me with a calm expression
"I think it was the adrenaline Mutsumi...I almost got killed by your brother, met your spy family, and now I'm engaged to your brother" I told her simplifying what happened yesterday
"That maybe so... but taking baby steps in improving your socializing skills is definitely a positive development" she told me with a kind smile
"You think I'm good enough?" I asked her as she gave me a curious glance "I've known you since childhood but I had no idea of the hardships you've been dealing with...I want to protect you, but I can't even protect myself...I'm not strong enough or-ack!" Then she smack my forehead cutting me off
"Stop thinking it's your fault, just because you didn't know or did know would not change the circumstances as we all don't have the luxury to blame ourselves but use that energy to improve and get stronger to protect each other" she told me simply as my eyes widen
I couldn't help but give a small smile at her words 'I guess she's right like usual...' I couldn't but think
"Despite marrying into this chaotic family you still care about my feelings first" she told me as I stared at her "For as long as I've known you when I'm in trouble or feeling down you do everything to make feel better never asking for anything in return and respecting my privacy" she said as a bright smile of joy spread across her face
"I'm happy you're apart of my family" Mutsumi said sincerely as I felt something in me feel all warm and fuzzy
"Mutsu-!" My eyes widen as I saw something attached to the roof "LOOK OUT!!!" I screamed as I grabbed her
BOOOOOOOMMMMMMMM!!!!!!
As my ears were slightly ringing from the explosion and I was getting my teeth in pain using my arm to push away a large chunk of concrete away
"Are you okay, Mutsumi?" I asked her as I was catching my breath
"Yes...But, what about you Taiyo? Are you hurt?!" She asked me in worry
"I'm fine" I answered bluntly as my mind was racing with swirling thoughts of how the hell the bomber knew we were going to be in this specific room at this time
'It's as if the Bomber planned everything to the last second and they knew that the both of us were gonna be in that room at that very moment and at the same time...but how...?!' A my mind was racing as I knew the bomber wants to take out the both of at the same time until something hit me
"The only one you can trust is yourself ...even then, sometimes you—" as those replayed in my mind as put pressure on my side as some small part of muscle was sore as I realized where the third bomb was
'That bastard was planning on using me to kill Mutsumi' I couldn't help but think as I was absolutely pissed at being used to hurt someone I care about
I knew time was running out and I made my decision without any hesitation as I ran forward and jumped out of building to get away from Mutsumi
"Taiyo?!" I heard Mutsumi scream in shock as I didn't turn back and I shut my eyes waiting for the explosion
But someone caught me as I snap my eyes open to see Kyoichiro holding me bridal style I was completely speechless
"I'm glad my job finished early" he said with a pleased smile on his face as I noticed some strings holding a tiny device "These tiny bombs are lightweight and powerful but have two major flaws" he said holding it up
'Flaws?' I couldn't help but think as I just stared at the timer that only had one second left
"It takes several hours to work since it uses the target's body heat to charge up and its simple design can be paused by a single string" he then turned his gazed towards me "Good for noticing, you did very well" he praised me as I blushed and looked away
'Well you saved me with only a second to spare, I should be thanking you...' I couldn't help but think
"You proven how far you are willing to go to protect family and now I'm gonna do everything I can to protect you as my future-wife" he told me sincerely
"Ack-ah-ugghhh" I groaned in embarrassment as I covered my blushing face with my hand as I felt him move again and then there was explosion
Apparently he threw the bomb towards the abandoned building that the bomber was in and then we met up with Mutsumi on the ground as I was still trying to hide my face as she was teasing me
"Ha, ha! Still tweeting, huh? Addictions are scary!" He said looking at his phone reading the Bomber's last tweets
'He maybe protective but he's still crazy' I couldn't help but think
