I'm not ready. I don't think Xavier is, either. His dad and mine excuse us from school for the afternoon, so we can all go and meet John, the PI in dad's office.

Xavier and I enter together, hand in hand. His palms are clammy, and his grip tight. Joshua is here too, talking to dad. His face somewhat lights up as he sees Xav, but then he decides to respect his space by walking out with an encouraging nod.

"I'll let you watch it," Dad says quietly to Xavier, walking out behind Josh.

"Are you ready?" I whisper.

"No," he tells me, but walks toward the open laptop anyway.

On the screen is Xavier, asleep. His body lit up from a phone flash. He looks at me, and I smile at him. "I'll still love you, no matter what. I'm here, Xavier, and I'm not leaving."

He swallows hard, nodding, before he sits and presses play.

Sofia's hand moves down Xavier's bare chest, his breathing heavy.

"I was dreaming about mom, and you," he tells me. "I felt like I was dying, thinking about her."

Therefore, his heavy pants. His face is full of pain, even if he didn't hurt physically. And even if it's not obvious, I can tell.

"Wow," Sofia whispers, her hands roaming over Xavier's crotch as she removes his covers.

And then, she's pulling his boxers down slowly, revealing Xavier to the camera.

A disgusted sound leaves Xavier, and I hug him to my stomach, feeling my stomach churn. She touches him, wrapping her hands around him and jerking him off, two pumps, before he stirs in surprise, and she panics, putting the boxers up and stopping the recording the second his eyes open.

"I remember a flash of light, and I remember a phone. That's why I'd thought..." he stops talking.

There's nothing to say. If I open my mouth, I'll either scream, or throw up.

So I just hug him harder, massage his hair.

A while later, dad knocks on the door, his face sympathetic. Xavier looks at him, and I sit on his lap, putting my head on his collarbone as we continue to hug. "Have you seen it?"

Xavier nods. I grit my teeth.

Dad nods as well, Joshua coming in, but staying in the corner of the room. Silent support. Baby steps. "John figured out how she broke into your room. She recorded you putting the sequence in, and she got spare keys made for the door by a local goldsmith. We've erased the files from her Cloud Drive and her phone, along with any pictures John found of you. All while you slept."

"How long has it been going on for?" Xavier rasps.

"Mid October is the first time a picture was taken."

Xavier stiffens.

"Fuck," I growl, feeling enraged. "I can't wait any longer," I spit. "I'm dragging that bitch out by her hair today, dad. I need those divorce papers ready by five. And Joshua, you're signing them in front of my damn eyes," I say quietly, glaring at everyone's shocked faces before looking at Xavier with an impossibly soft expression. "This is over today," I whisper, cupping his cheeks. "She's going away forever." Xavier closes his eyes, and drops his forehead to mine. "Everything won't be ready if you people keep staring at us," I growl at the adults in the room, and hear them shuffling away immediately.

Xavier huffs out a breathy laugh. "I think you just scared your own dad."

"I don't care," I kiss him. "Nothing is getting in my way right now, not even a damn bullet train can stop me tonight."
