Hello, Creative Minds!

          	Whether you write poetry or prose, fiction or non-fiction, let’s celebrate the magic of weaving words and impart the wisdom gained from our shared experiences;

          	1. Negative criticism is inevitable, how do you deal with it? And what would you suggest the others do when faced with such?

          	2. What's your go-to cure for a bad day while writing?

          	Lastly, share your progress in the comments below. Keep creating magic with your words!

          	Happy Writing!

@justwriteit 1. I like the truth straight up. But I believe words have power. So if it's negative in a way to hurt....then I suggest they pay no heed. Of it's constructive listen with an open heart.

          	  2. I've been writing mostly through my bad days as of late. And my cure is...just do it. Let those negative vibes flow through you and out. And everyone here has been so positive it helps a lot when imposter syndrome kicks in.

          	  3. I'm almost done with my Final draft. Sharing it here; I'm finding a community I never thought possible. Though everyone isn't vocal, hearing from other writers and readers fuel the soul. You guys don't understand how much it means when you're at zero. Everyone has been kind. The stories are so diverse. And I'm excited to share my work and read others. It's motivating.

@justwriteit Honestly for a while I've been the person asking these questions, how to deal with hard days.

          	  Typically if I have a bad day at school or something like that, I write to take the load off. But those days where all you see is negative criticism, I look for the good; the compliments on what I'm doing right. Then I look back at the negatives and I focus on ways to improve. For example, if someone were to say that my writing reads unnatural and sloppy, I focus on the ways to improve writing instead of hyperfixating on an insult. Criticism can most of the time be taken as constructive rather than negative.

          	  Far my bad days where writing is last thing I'm doing right, when I can't get words onto the page, I read. I read through a story of the same or similar genre. It excites my brain into being able to write again. This only works most of the time, if it doesn't work I just take the day off. There's no need for me to be miserable trying to put out work. It'll come out half done and not something I would show anyone, so why do it. Overall, what helps 99% of the time for me, drawing. Drawing anything and everything. It gets me going and helps center my focus.
