I was born in Wimpole Park, Cambridgeshire, England. An Air Force brat, I went to nine schools in seven states before graduating high school. Originally, I majored in English, wanting to write and teach, but life had other plans for me. After a four-year hiatus from college, working in a record store in Fort Smith, I stumbled into the University of Arkansas and am now a Certified Public Accountant living in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

In fourth grade, living in Hawaii, someone told me there were very few books on the mainland to read, and most had to be bought at bookstores. We didn't have much money, and I wanted to know the stories between the covers, so I read everything I could get my hands on at the school library the next eighteen months--from collections of Poe and Sherlock Holmes, to some Dickens, and, since my grandfather flew the Burma Hump in WWII, God is my Co-Pilot.

The first story I ever wrote was in 4th grade about a ghost. My mother told me it wasn't any good. That's all I remember of it, too. But I never stopped writing and telling stories. I guess that's what writers must do: if we could somehow silence the voices of the people in our heads who want the world to meet them, we could live in peace. But without writers telling the stories of those who live behind the curtain of the mind, the world would be a much sadder place.

My book, Losing Deseret, was a semi finalist for the Santa Fe Writer's Project Book Award in 2016. It is a coming of age story of a group of Mormon kids in the 1970s set in Iowa. It is all girls, cars and rock n roll until their Bishop's prurient nature overtakes their lives.
