Tessa Winters
He was using the car that he raced in, I do not think he knows I am a racer yet. I honestly do not know if to tell him or not, well if he paid attention then he would figure out that I raced by my car. I mean he may know and is not saying anything, this is just one big mess. I recognized where we were going, it was the way to the track where the races are held. He stops in the parking area and turns to me with a goofy grin on his face
"Want to do something fun?" I look at him and then down to his lip. God, I wanted to kiss him
"What you go in mind?" I ask looking back up to his eyes "You're not going to kill me, are you?" I question leaning forward
"Wouldn't dream of it" suddenly he throws the car in drive and stepped on the gas
I grabbed the oh shit handle and he drifted onto the track. We started to drift around the corners, and I rolled down my window, I stuck my hand out the window with a big smile on my face. Every now and then I would catch Asher looking at me with a smirk, I just brushed it off. All to soon we came to a stop and I started laughing
"Seems like you enjoyed yourself" he leaned into his seat as we stared at the stars
"It's been a while, between taking care of Hazel and work I really don't go out and have fun much" I shrug
"You cane to my party if I remember right"
"Once, I went to your party once" I held up a finger while turning to him "Hadley somehow convinced me" he turned to me
"You we jealous"
"What?"
"At the party when I told you I was going to bang a random girl. You got jealous, at first I thought I was seeing things, but you were very jealous"
"Maybe I was, but we're older now. We live our own lives and it's not like we're dating" I whispered the last part and turned away from him
"You left" he growled
"It's not like I had a choice to, I was forced" I angrily opened the door and got out. I slammed the door and started to walk away
"Lesy! Lesy!" I could hear him calling me, but I just ignored him "Damn its Tessa" I froze when I felt him grab my hand
"I didn't have a choice" I whispered turning to him, I could feel the tears wanting to fall
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that. I know" he grabbed my face "I spent the first few months asking around about you, I showed up at your house and your parents said you left with your aunt"
"I didn't want to, it felt like I was being kidnapped" the tears slipped "They came in and grabbed me, calling me a sinner and shaming me"
Before I could say anything else I felt his lips pressed to mine, I caved quickly and kissed him back. I wrapped my arms around his neck and his hands dropped to my waist, he pulled me closer. Slowly we pulled away and he wiped away my tears
"God I've missed that" he had a small smirk "Lesy, there wasn't a day that went by that I didn't think about" he moved some of my hair behind my ear
"There wasn't a day that I didn't think about you, us. I missed you so much" I searched his face, for what I really don't know
"The day that I saw you with Hadley in the diner, I thought you looked familiar. I tried to see why, but just shrugged it off"
"It was hard for me not to jump up and kiss you, I wanted to tell you then that it was me and I was back. But I had Hazel and I thought you might have had a girlfriend" I pressed my forehead to his chest and laughed lightly
"She looks so much like me" his arms wrapped tightly around me "How I didn't see it to begin with"
"She has my hair and your looks" we both lightly laugh "I don't know how to tell her"
"Why?"
"I may have told her that you didn't want her. That you left us" I said lightly and I back away
"You what?" He growled moving away from me and I felt cold suddenly "Why would you do that?" He was growing angry
"I didn't think I'd come back here; I didn't think you'd still be here" I say in defense "I had my reasons. Who knows, you may have not even wanted her anyway. I don't even know if you want her now, I don't even know if you really want me?" He faces softened
"Why would I have taken you on a date tonight if I didn't want you?"
"To tease me, make fun of me. I don't know Asher"
