After the cafeteria incident I left the school grounds and made my way home. I could just make an excuse for missing school. As soon as I got home I ran upstairs and headed straight for the shower. I stripped and stepped in letting the warm water relax my muscles. I really needed to find somewhere to fight. Fighting for me is like breathing. Fighting is the only way I can survive this cruel world. It's not the strongest species who survive, nor the most intelligent, but the ones more responsive to change. Survival can be summed up in three words. Don't give up. That's the heart of it really, just keep trying.
After showering I wrapped a towel around my body and walked out my bathroom straight to my walk in closet. I grabbed a t-shirt which belonged to Gabe and a pair of sweats. My room had changed since I first came. It was no longer pink. I ran downstairs and straight to the kitchen.
"Hey Gabe, what are you doing here, shouldn't you be at work?" I asked when I saw Gabe sitting on a stool on the island.
"I'm off, what are you doing home from school so early?"Gabe asked back raising an eyebrow.
"Couldn't be bothered with it" I replied casually.
"Seriously" he asked in disbelief.
"I felt sick?" I excused.
"You don't seem sick"
"Fine, you caught me" I gave up with a sigh. I walked around the island opening the fridge removing a yogurt and sat back on a stool across Gabe.
"Sky what's up, what happened at school" he asked trying to make a conversation.
"Well, after you left I knocked into the presumed bad boy. He knocked down my books, and thought it was funny. I showed him it's not. Then all day until lunch I was being pestered by a girl who insists on friendship and finally I stood up to a girl who was bullying someone" I summarised my day.
"Wow" Gabe drew out, I just sighed in response. I finished my yogurt and threw it in the bin before returning back to my seat. We just sat there in a comfortable silence before it was ruined by a buzz from my phone. I scooped it out from my back pocket and saw an alert showing I have a message from Jake.

Received At: 1:25pm
Hey, kiddo
How's everything there? How was school?

Sent At: 1:26pm
Everything's cool, I'm missing you. School is school. I really need somewhere to fight. Help me

Received At: 1:28pm
I miss you too, the place is quiet without you. There is a place nearby where you can fight. I'll send you the details later. Love you.
I quickly sent a 'love you too' back before placing my phone back in my back pocket.
"It was Jake" I explained to Gabe who was giving me a curious look.
"As in the guy who took you in?" He confirmed.
"Exactly, can we go to the gym?" I asked, I really needed to release some stress.
"Sure we can, go change then we'll head off" he answered grabbing his keys from the key bowl at the side of the kitchen. I quickly ran upstairs and changed into my gym clothes. I missed my street fights. Hopefully Jake will send me the details soon, I'm not sure how much longer I can wait.
