I am a simple piece of the mind; I am a simple made-up line.
I wonder what I life could be; I wonder what I am meant to see.
I hear the distant songs in these lands; I see the screaming in others hands.
I see the light with my eyes; I see the knife in your lies.
I want to be free; I want not to see.
I am a simple piece of the mind; I am a simple made-up line.
I pretend to be ok, even as I say, "go away".
I feel the weight of my mind, even if it is not kind.
I touch the souls of others with my hands, even those I cannot stand.
I worry that I am not enough, even as they tell me I am tough.
I am a simple piece of the mind; I am a simple made-up line.
I cry because of the things I say; I cry because I am not ok.
I understand that life can put you down; I understand you can't live life with a frown.
I say things I do not mean; I say things as my head screams.
I dream of how I want to fly; I dream of how I want to die.
I try to be my best me, despite the way it may seem; and as I sit here hoping not to stall, I pray for the day I don't want to fall.
I am a simple piece of the mind; I am a simple made-up line.
