Their heated sessions seemingly increased, so did their proximity. Poonam and Rohit in true senses had become a couple; a married couple.

"You know, Rohit, Maa wants us to start trying for baby..." Poonam drew imaginary circles on the side of his arm with her finger.

"So, do you want to make babies like right now? I don't mind repeating all the process!" Poonam hit his arm with her face overwhelmed with shyness.

"No! Not now...!"

"Do you realize you're hitting me quite a lot, recently?" Rohit puckered his lips like a kid.

Poonam chuckled, "And do you realize how troublesome you have become within only a few nights!?"

"Troublesome? And me?! What are you talking about?"

"Yes, you! You didn't let me sleep the whole night and now you want a repeat!"

"I want a repeat? And what about you? Who started the topic of making babies?"

"I was just... Not that I don't want to... I mean, not already..." Poonam stuttered.

"Shall we get started after a few more minutes?"

Poonam gasped in shock, "I wasn't talking about that!" She exclaimed, "I was talking about babies! Do you want to have kids already?"

"I agree. It is a little early. We can think about babies later and learn how to make them first!" Rohit pulled the blanket over their heads and the rest could only be imagined while the muffled moans and whimpering and groans that could be heard.

As days went by, Poonam realized she has unleashed a demon within Rohit. The latter nowadays didn't want to leave her even for a second. He was growing addicted to her and so was she. The smell of his aftershave, the feel of her man, the way he allured her and adored her, Poonam has become addicted to his affection.

However, the days of bliss came to an end as the couple returned home. Their lives were once again muddled up between daily life hassles and their usual chores. Luckily, Poonam till now had already settled down in the new environment and among the new people. Another reason why Rohit found her lovable was that she regarded his parents no less than her own. Poonam was very well-accomodating and she learnt very quick. Although, she was still not very good at cooking but would put more effort when she cooked for her husband. She loved hearing him praise her cooking and Rohit would praise her cooking even if the food didn't taste very good.

Nevertheless, the pressure was still on. Poonam felt pressurised with her mother-in-law reminding her every now and then about having babies. At times, Poonam wanted to tell the old-lady off. Her mother-in-law wasn't very conservative herself to pressurise her daughter-in-law to have a baby, but the ladies around the neighbourhood would continue to tease her. Therefore, the earlier, the better.

"After a certain age, it becomes difficult to get pregnant and then there would be complications... You and Rohit should really consider—"

"Maa, Rohit doesn't have a job yet. How are we going to take care of a baby with Rohit having no job, no way of earning?" Poonam's words made sense. However, her mother-in-law took it wrong.

"Are you implying that my son is jobless and is not capable enough to take care of you and your baby! Are we not providing you enough?!"

"Maa... I did not mean it! What I was trying to say was—"

"I get it. Main samajh rahi hu tumhari baat ka matlab kya hain (I know what you're implying). However, would you be happy only to have kids after my and Rohit's father's demise? In that case, take your time."

"Maa, it is not like that!" Poonam sighed, "I talked to him about it and Rohit too doesn't want a baby already."

"He is a man! There are many things he wouldn't want and things that he would want but not all he can get. As his wife you will need to watch over and regulate. Beta, trust me, once you have a little angel tied to the both of you, your bond will only go stronger. Rohit too will learn to be responsible then."

"Maa, I don't think I should nag him about it..."

"Do you want me to talk to him? Or maybe your Papa Ji can?" Poonam stared at her mother-in-law in disbelief.

What happened to the woman who sounded so reasonable and warm only a few days back when the neighbourhood ladies were up to bullying Poonam? The latter was rescued by the very same lady. Her mother-in-law had not only saved her from embarrassment but also gave her a good talk. And now the same woman is pestering her about having babies.
