🕯️Lighthouse🕯️
-The Waifs-

"Light house, tall and grand
Standin' on the cold headland
Shine your light across the sea
For a wayward, sailor girl like me."

"A little tune that seemed to hold a little District 4 charm in it's beat. I couldn't find any lyrics for a particular meaning, but something about the guitar and percussions seemed to remind me of District 4."

💙Underwater💙
-Little Quirks-

"Rise and fall,
My head can't seem to take anymore
Oh why, why, why
Don't I live underwater?
Come with me and you will see
It's silent in the river,
Underneath the wave, beneath the sea."

"Just a little folk song from a cool new band I discovered recently, and it seemed to give District 4 vibes :)"

🍂this is me trying🍂
-Taylor Swift-

"And it's hard to be at a party
When I feel like an open wound
It's hard to be anywhere these days
When all I want is you.
You're a flashback in a film reel
On the one screen in my town
And I just wanted you to know
That this is me trying"

"I happen to be a full time swiftie, so I had to add at least one of her songs. I like this one because it seemed to speak about the 13 year old girl who lost someone close to her, and how even though she's older now it still hurts, and how even then she was still willing to try and get back the things she lost."

🪽Dog Days Are Over🪽
-Florence + The Machine-

"Run fast for your mother, run fast for your father,
Run for your children, for your sisters and brothers
Leave all your love and your longing behind,
You can't carry it with you if you want to survive."

"A few of you might actually know this one! I thought it was a nice little reminder of the things that made life worth fighting for, for Zuri in and out of the arena."

🌲Out Of The Woods (Tv)🌲
-Taylor Swift-

"Remember when you hit the brakes too soon?
Twenty stitches in a hospital room,
When you started crying, baby I did too
But when the sun came up, I was looking at you.
Remember when you couldn't take the heat?
I walked out, I said "I'm setting you free"
But the monsters turned out to be just trees
And when the sun came up, you were looking at me."

"Once again I am reminded how good the bridge in this song is. Out of the Woods worked well because of it's relating to overcoming obstacles and finding clarity. Given the multiple obstacles Zuri had to overcome both in and out of the arena, it seemed to suit her well. The music video is also absolutely awesome."

🍃Welcome Home🍃
-Radical Face-

"Ships are launching from my chest
Some have names but most do not.
If you find one, please let me know
What piece I've lost."

"Nothing special, Just a little welcome home song for Zuri on the first train back to District 4 :)"

🌊Little Talks🌊
-Of Monsters & Men-

"Don't listen to a word I say,
The screams all sound the same.
And though the truth may vary this,
Ship will cary our bodies safe to shore"

"Another post hunger games song, also touching on the repair of Zuri and Finnick's relationship. (as friends!)"

⛅️Moments⛅️
-Hollow Coves-

"Seek to reach the heights of the alpine
Seize the golden light when the sun shines,
Realise that time is a precious gift
So make these moments last."

"A cute little song that pulled a few heartstrings, reminding me of the cute little bond between Zuri and her little brother, Julian. Also a good reminder to make happy memories with the people you love. (While you still can!)"

🔱From Finner🔱
-Of Monsters & Men-

"We came here on his back
And we caught your eye
The salty ocean wind
Made the seagulls cry
And the rocking of his house
Had me holding on
But I knew that I was safe
From there on out."

"I love, love, LOVE this song!!!!! It seemed to scream District 4 straight at me! The tune of the accordion, the rolling of the drums, even the chorus of voices, it was as if the whole of District 4 was dancing to it as we speak!"

🌪️Control🌪️
-Zoe Wees-

"Early in the morning, I still get a little bit nervous
Fighting my anxiety constantly, I try to control it.
Even when I know it's been forever I can still feel the spin
Hurts when I remember and I never wanna feel it again."

"A powerful but heart-wrenching song, touching on the tricky mental aspects after the games, also highlighting Zuri's fear of loosing control of herself, and loosing the people that help her get through each day."

❤️‍🩹All I Know So Far❤️‍🩹
-P!nk-

"You throw your head back
And you spit in the wind,
Let the walls crack, cause
it lets the light in.
Let 'em drag you through hell
They can't tell you to change
who you are.
That's all I know so far.

"A powerful song, bearing an encouragement to push through the pain and fear, the good things that come after, and to find joy even in the difficult situations."

⚡️Feel for you⚡️
-Boy Named Banjo-

"You hit me like a heart attack,
Like a lightning crack,
Every time you leave you got me begging
"Come back."

"This song makes me want to scream, cry, and laugh all at the same time.
I thought it well described the raw pain and grit of falling in love with someone, when they don't feel the same.
Well suited to Zuri's situation, and it also explained how to move on from the sting of unrequited love, and learning that accepting people as just friends is sometimes for the better, as much as it might hurt."
