Kalakand is an Indian sweet dish made with 4 simple ingredients but delightful for the tastebuds. While there are a lot of quick and easy recipes for this dish, we are sharing here the traditional way it is usually made.

Ingredients

1 Litre Full Fat Milk

125 Grams Granulated Sugar

38 Grams Ghee (Clarified Butter)

1 Teaspoon Lemon Juice


Procedure

1. In a thick bottom pan pour in the milk and bring to boil on high flame while stirring continuously.

2. Lower the flame to medium heat and keep stirring continuously to make sure no fat gets accumulated. We will continue this until the milk gets reduced to 1/4th it's quantity.

3. Add in the lemon juice and stir well for 1 minute.

3. Next add in the sugar and stir stir well until it gets totally mixed.

4. Once the mixture thickness, add in the the ghee.

5. Keep mixing and stirring until the mixture hardens little and has no liquid coming out.

6. Pour it out in a greased tin or plate and let it set while cooling down to room temperature.


Note

1. Make sure no layer of cream or fat is formed while boiling the milk.

2. If any liquid remains it might not set well but will still taste delicious.
