"Erica, you here?" Mona yelled out, walking into her two bedroom apartment that she shared with her cousin. She stopped in the hallway removing her shoes and placing them on the shoes stand before walking deeper into the home.

"Erica !" she called out again.

"Bitch, fuck is you yelling for ?" Erica yelled back, making her towards the living room area.

"Mhm cause you aint respond to me dummy," she scrunched her face up, rolling her eyes as she sat her purse on the kitchen island.

"Whatever," she rolled her eyes. "I'm home so what you want." Erica question as she scanned through the fridge.

"Pass me one of my Starbucks drinks," she said, leaning over the counter, looking into the fridge. Erica grabbed the drink then sat it in front of Mona.

"Thanks and remember that party we went to over the weekend?"

Erica tilted her head to the side while tapping her chin trying to remember. "We went to like three parties, narrow it down for me ma."

"Mhm the welcome back party we attended. What was the jawn name?" she asked, pretended not to know.

The truth of the matter was that Mona would probably never forget Alora as long as she was around. Alora was a threat to her relationship and needed to be eliminated.

"Oh Amir sister," she smiled at the thought of Amir. Erica always had a thing for him, the mere thought of him alone made her panties wet. "What about her?"

"What you know about her ?" Mona asked, sipping her drink.

"I know what everyone knows; daughter of KD, a hood legend. She has a kid, own a hair business. She move away years ago after we graduated now shes back for good i hear." Erica rambled on, with meaningless information. "Why you wanna know about her ?"

"Uh no reason," she shrugged. "I ran into her a few days ago, oddly she mentioned Rome." Mona lied.

Erica stopped stirring her food and turned her attention to Mona. She starred at her cousin for a moment trying to read her for a lie. She had been around Alora a few times and nothing screaming messiness about her.

"She mentioned Rome ? Why ?" she questioned.

"Ya guess as good as mine. I thought it was odd and weird." Mona scrunched her face up, playing into her own lie.

"Very, Rome and her weren't a thing. I mean they were but they weren't. Everyone knew they had dealing but never how deep it was. Like i said she left after graduation had a kid and got engaged. She often visited but thats about it." she paused, frowning. "I hope she aint back on no weird shit."

Mona chuckled. "Cousin I said the same shit ! I don't have time for the dumb shit."

Mona lips said one thing but she felt another. She was all for the dumb shit especially about Rome. She invested two years of her life with him, there was no way on hell she was going to let some old fling come back into town and take what was hers.

She didn't know full details about Alora and Rome but the way they interacted with each other the night of Alora party told her enough. She saw the videos of them dancing and all hugged in his section. They were way to touchy feely, Mona figured they had to have some type of history.

"Chile, just don't get into anything with that girl. Her family ain't to be fuck with and at the end of day Rome would probably side with her. He like family with her folks." Erica shook her head.
