hello there!  i am a mother of six fabulously talented children ranging in age from 13 to 22 years old, all of whom sing, compose, play instruments, write, and act on stage.  my interests are many and varied, including history of all kinds, reading, writing, jewellery-making, scrap-booking, card-making, moderating a forum and teaching in both middle-school and high school classrooms.  i also co-direct and co-produce in a drama club for students aged 11-13, covering everything from background research to actor-coaching, costume design, make-up artistry and prop-making. my son, a contributor to this site, recommended it to me and so here i am.  

i am an avid Doctor Who fan, and i adore Torchwood as well.  i think Benedict Cumberbatch is brilliant as Sherlock, and i'm thoroughly enjoying Arrow this season.  Star Trek is a permanent favourite, (original, TNG, and the new films as well), and MASH is close to my heart. Among my favourite people would be Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, Julius Caesar, Cleopatra, Napoleon, Richard Burton, Gene Kelly, Danny Kaye, Eddie Izzard... and so many more.   in general, i love classic films, musicals, biographies, documentaries... i like to be challenged and inspired by the things i watch, in addition to being entertained.  i am a romantic at heart, and passionate about everything i do. 

besides the many magical moments i've enjoyed with my children, i have to also include the following experiences as among my personal highlights:  meeting Patrick Stewart, kissing Jerry Lee Lewis, meeting John Barrowman, talking with James Meran, knowing Jimmy Velvet and meeting so many of Elvis' friends, laughing with Brent Spiner, stealing a quiet chat with Marina Sirtis, and coffee with Bill Ballantine. 

not sure how much i'll post, but i will enjoy exploring and reading the work of others.  a terrific opportunity for new writers, young and mature... i look forward to finding my favourites and getting lost in the stories here!
