James Buchanan Barnes, also known as the Winter Soldier, also known as Bucky Barnes. Born March 10, 1925 in Shelbyville, Indiana. Veteran. Ex-assassin. Biologically old as hell. 

As a kid, I got in a lot of fights, which my father didn't like at all. When I was 10, I made him a promise - a promise that I broke and ended up disappointing him. Following his death, my sister, Rebecca, was sent to a boarding school and I was sent to Camp Lehigh. When I died six years later, I felt that I had finally proven myself to my father.

However, the Russians revived me shortly after death and took advantage of my memory loss. They brainwashed me and turned me into their greatest asset during the Cold War. Following the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991, I was sold to Hydra. I'm sure you know the rest. 

I mostly adventure and do my own thing, although I'll occasionally work with SHIELD. When I'm not "saving the world," you can find me in a Brooklyn suburb - and sometimes New Mexico - with my cat Alpine, my dog Laika, a bottle Smirnoff, and the love of my life, Daisy.
